What is BYG
BYG stands for Before You Go. BYG helps you take control of your customer journey by giving you full control on what happens right after your customers make a purchase(Post purchase). Hence Before You Go.
Why is Post Purchase experience important?
- It’s 7 times more expensive to attract new business than retain current customers (Source).
- Increasing retention rates by 5% increases profits by 25% – 95% (Source)
- The probability of a sale from a new customer is 5-20%, but from existing customers, it’s 60%-70% (Source)
- You customers are most euphoric at this stage
The post purchase experience is usually talked about in terms of customer service. For e.g. sending customers order confirmation email or tracking info. But that post purchase window can be about so much more. When well optimized you can use this window to increase average order value, get order attribution, feedback, social/loyalty follow or provide them with next steps and hence improving overall customer experience.
How does BYG work
We achieve this by giving you visual blocks that you can embed on the Post purchase pages. Internally we call those visual blocks, “Widgets”. To give you further control on which widget is shown to which customer, we give precise eligibility criteria builder. So you can build your Post Purchase pages and choose who sees them. Here are a few examples:
Scenario 1:
- A customer places an order on your Shopify store.
- Right after capturing payment, they are taken to the “Post Purchase Page”
- If the order/customer qualifies for a Post Purchase Offer, based on the eligibility criteria you’ve set, BYG will display the offer.
- The customer accepts the offer, the additional product is added to the original order.
Scenario 2:
- A customer places an order on your Shopify store.
- After capturing payment, the order is finalized and they are taken to the “Thank you” aka “Order Status” page.
- If the order/customer qualifies, BYG displays an Order Attribution survey, asking how did they hear about your store?
- The customer’s response is then captured and saved to BYG analytics.
As demonstrated in the above examples, BYG is not limited to just Upsell or Crosssell and can be used for variety of use cases. Including:
- Order attribution survey
- Newsletter signup
- Social promotion and/or follow
- Loyalty membership opt in
- Display instruction video related to the products bought
